Otto Weinz learned the craft of gemstone cutting as a teenager and ran his own electrically powered agate cutting workshop in Kirschweiler after World War I.
His son Günther Weinz discovered his fascination with gemstones at an early age.
After five years of imprisonment during World War II, he founded his own company, Günther Weinz, in Kirschweiler in 1958.
On his many trips abroad to Brazil, Russia, Burma, Ceylon, Thailand, and Taiwan, he always looked for unusual and exceptional rough stones!
Gems like tourmaline, beryl, moonstone, opal, and lapis, - offered a wonderful variety and exclusivity!
With the entry of son Hans-Joachim in 1974 the focus changed in increasingly processing raw gemstone in-house

The fourth generation joined the company in 2013 with the arrival of Stefan Weinz. He expanded the product range to include high-quality faceted individual stones, pairs, sets, and cabochons.
